A MAN was stabbed in the neck in a brutal and near fatal random attack in Frankston on Monday night.
Police were told two men were doorknocking along Daly St looking for a particular person just before 8.30pm when they struck up a conversation with a 46-year-old man outside his home.
Frankston detective Senior Constable John Melhuish said an argument started as the pair began to leave the property, causing one of the men to launch the sickening attack.
“One of the men leant over the gate and stabbed the man with a weapon,” he said.
The 46-year-old suffered a serious but non-life threatening neck wound and was taken to The Alfred hospital where he is still recovering.
