A CAREER crim with a perverted past faces yet another stint in jail for breaching sex offender orders, bashing a bloke and smashing up a neighbour’s car.

The man, who has a prior criminal history extending to 17 pages, is likely to have to serve more time behind bars for more offending, some of it done while serving a suspended sentence.

Alan James Borne, of Frankston, has a long rap sheet including convictions for a sexual incident with a minor in Queensland, perverting the course of justice in Victoria and bashing a former partner.

At Frankston Magistrates’ Court on July 26 the 32-year-old pleaded guilty to several breaches of the sex offender’s register, unlawful assault and intentional property damage.

The court heard he had been put on the sex offender’s register in June 2016 for a historical crime committed against a minor in Queensland.

On a raft of occasions since then he had failed to tell authorities he has moved house, not advised them he was getting email and internet connections, and had been working.

On one occasion police were looking for him as he had not told them of a change of address, only to find him naked in a girlfriend’s bedroom wardrobe.

In March last year Borne and the woman were at a camp in Gembrook when he lost the plot.

He bashed a fellow camper, headbutting him in the face and causing a bloody nose.

And in July last year he attacked a neighbour’s small truck, smashing windows and mirrors in a fit of alcohol-fuelled rage.

Borne’s lawyer said he had had a difficult upbringing, alcohol problems and had already served two jail terms over the past year for different offending.

He said he was currently in custody and had served 16 days on remand, but requested he not have to complete a two-month suspended sentence.

But magistrate Dominic Lennon said Borne has been educated about the register, had breached it in the past and the community needed to be protected.

“It’s a quite deliberate failure to comply with reporting obligations,” Mr Lennon said.

“He’s doing that because he’s turning a blind eye, or at worst there are more sinister purposes,” he said.

Borne will be sentenced on August 8.
