Police hunt for dangerous bikers

Five people including three teenagers have been arrested over an illegal motorbike event as police zero in on four other hoon riders.

A group of an estimated 55 riders were seen erratically driving across multiple freeways on December 23, 2023 and were first spotted on the Western Ring Rd near Sydney Rd.

The mob travelled to the Tullamarine Fwy inbound before reaching CityLink and riding over the Bolte Bridge.

The group was later seen allegedly riding dangerously around the Catani Gardens and the St Kilda Yacht Club.

When police arrived at the scene, a rider allegedly kicked the side mirror off the police car before the group scattered back towards the city.

Footage and pics provided by witnesses allegedly show some riders on CityLink were swerving between cars, performing wheelies and filming each other while riding.

Police have made five arrests following an intense investigation into the incident, run by the North West Metro Achilles Taskforce.
