A STRING of terrifying street robberies have spurred police to warn people not to walk alone after dark near a major railway station.
After the recent spate, Dandenong Police are warning people against walking after dark near Noble Park train station.
Three robberies were reported in a 500-metre area over 48 hours, one which left a teenager in hospital.

Detective Senior Constable Tony Lavars said there had been a spike in robberies in the area in the past few weeks, urging the public to “walk in numbers and avoid going out after dark on foot.”
On October 25, an 18-year-old boy was walking through Mills Reserve about 11.20pm, when a group of four men emerged from a playground and demanded his wallet and phone.
When he refused, the men bashed the boy, who was later treated at Dandenong Hospital for a broken nose, facial lacerations and a swollen lip.
The teen’s phone was stolen and police said he could not describe all of his attackers but said one of them was of Pacific Islander appearance.
About 10 minutes later on Kelvinside Rd, a 26-year-old Noble Park man was walking from the direction of Noble Park Station, wearing headphones.
He was approached from behind by two men, believed to be about 19 or 20 years old who demanded money. He told them he had none and one of the thugs grabbed his headphones and punched him in the face.
The man fought back, quickly seizing his headphones and punching one of the attackers before running off.
The night before, about 1am, a 40-year-old Noble Park man was walking on Memorial Drive when two men, described as being of Islander appearance, approached him and demanded his phone, which he handed over.
The brazen thieves, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 20, were last seen meeting a woman further down Memorial Drive, towards Heatherton Road.
Detective Lavars has called on people to be cautious at night in the vicinity of the station.
“Walk in numbers and avoid going out after dark on foot if you can, particularly in parks and backstreets,” he said.
“Walk in well-lit areas. Exercise caution when walking through Noble Park Station and surrounds.”
