Three teens have been arrested after they allegedly seriously assaulted a man in Cranbourne.
Police allege a 21-year-old man was parked outside a venue in Stawell St when a group of about 20 males approached him at 1.40am on January 7.
It’s alleged the thugs assaulted the man and drove away in a stolen silver 2012 Mercedes sedan.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two men, both 18, and a boy, 16, were arrested and charged with multiple offences including aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, violent disorder and intentionally cause injury.
The teens were remanded to appear before court at a later date.
Detective Senior Sergeant David Cox said police would not stand for such “thuggish attacks” and would “work around the clock” to put a stop to violent offending.
“The repercussions for victims of serious violent assaults will often go well beyond physical injuries, as we know mental scars can be equally as damaging,” he said.
“We will use every resource available to gather intelligence and bring offenders before the courts and hold them to account, helping victims find some closure.”
The alleged stolen car with number plates ADG013 remains outstanding and police urge anyone who has seen it to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
