An on-duty police officer charged with assault in Noble Park

A leading senior constable will face court for assault charges after an alleged Noble Park attack.

A Victorian police officer has been charged with unlawful assault and assault with a weapon. ​

A police officer who allegedly assaulted a person with a weapon while on duty last year is set to face court.

The 61-year-old leading senior constable from Southern Region was charged with one count of unlawful assault and assault with a weapon.

The alleged incident occurred when the officer was on-duty in Noble Park on August 5, 2021.

He will appear in court at a later date.
