Sophia Mammone, 33, of Cardross, pleaded guilty to one charge of common law assault in relation to that incident, escaping with an $800 fine and a good behaviour bond.
During the altercation on June 3 2023 Mammone grabbed her victim around the neck, causing a puncture wound that required stitches.
The victim retaliated, punching and kicking Mammone before witnesses separated the two.
Despite the puncture wound, the prosecution didn’t accuse Mammone of producing or using a knife.
Mammone was arrested two days later on June 5.
Magistrate Michael Coghlan mentioned the circumstances leading up to the incident when he handed down his sentence saying, the household was, “full of criminals,” and admonished the, “use of drugs and otherwise,” in the lead up to the incident.
Mammone said through her lawyer she was taking steps to deal with her drug addiction.
Mammone’s good behaviour bond runs until September 11, 2024.
