MELBOURNE Instagrammers have long loved shooting their food, but for the first time they can use those happy snaps as currency at a special one-day Federation Square event.
Hosted by SnapMelbourne, Mr Burger and Franklin coffee will hand out free food to attendees who print out a photo at the free Instagram printers on site.
Happy snappers who show their photo to the event vendors will be treated to complimentary burgers, soft serve ice cream and coffee.
Kicking off at 11.30am, the event celebrates a national day of photo-sharing that shows off the world’s most liveable city and includes a performance by X-Factor Australia runner-up Taylor Henderson at 1pm.
Leader editor-in-chief John Trevorrow is encouraging all Melburnians to join in the fun by snapping a shot and tagging it #SnapMelbourne on social media.
“Leader wants to celebrate everything about Melbourne,” he said.
“We’re inviting everybody to hashtag and share their #SnapMelbourne images of what’s unique, beautiful and fun about your neighbourhood and this great town.”
SnapMelbourne begins from sunrise and runs until midnight, but keen photographers have already started sharing their shots. Check them out below.
