Rowville crime: Cranbourne East man charged in relation to thefts from cars
Police cracking down on thefts from cars have had a breakthrough, after receiving reports of a suspicious man lurking in Rowville.

A dedicated police operation to crack down on thefts from unlocked cars in Rowville has had the desired result, with a Cranbourne East man facing charges.
The Knox criminal investigation unit ran Operation Darwinism on Saturday and Sunday nights in Rowville.
According to a post on the Eyewatch – Knox Police Service Area page, at about 1.30am Monday morning, police were called to reports of a suspicious man in Heany Park Drive.
Upon arrival police found a man hiding in Whitecliffe Drive.
A vehicle was also intercepted leaving the area and items from a theft from motor vehicle in Berwick were allegedly located, along with property belonging to the located man.
A Cranbourne East man, 38, has been charged with two attempted theft from motor vehicles and going equipped to steal.
He will face the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on July 26.
A Springvale man, 38, and a Bayswater North man, 43, were released pending further inquiries.
Police reminded residents to lock all car doors and windows, even when parking at home or just leaving their car for a moment.
