Man charged over alleged sexual assault of Westfield Knox worker
A man has been charged over an alleged sexual assault on a 19-year-old woman who was working at a store in a Wantirna South shopping centre.

A 43-year-old Wantirna man has been arrested and charged over an alleged sexual assault on a young woman who was working at Westfield Knox shopping centre.
A man allegedly entered the shop where the 19-year-old worked about noon on Thursday, January 2.
Knox Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team detective Acting Sergeant Andrea Vangemert said the man allegedly followed the employee around the store before speaking to her.
He then allegedly made inappropriate comments towards her and sexually assaulted her.
The woman moved away from the man during the attack, but he continued to harass her before he left the store.

“She wasn’t physically harmed, but obviously it’s affected her emotionally,” Acting Sgt Vangemert said.
A man was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of stalking.
He will appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court today.
