Three Bridges house fire: CFA crews battle Little Yarra Road blaze that destroyed home
A fire has destroyed a weatherboard rental home in the Upper Yarra with the property described by a firefighter as ablaze from “end to end”. Luckily no one was injured but the woman’s pets were not so lucky.

Fire has destroyed a family home in Three Bridges with the blaze taking Yarra Valley firefighters six hours to fully extinguish.
A timber house on Little Yarra Rd was fully alight with flames roaring out of both ends of the house when firefighters were called just after midnight on Friday, September 18.
Police, paramedics and volunteer CFA firefighters from brigades including Wesburn/Millgrove, Yarra Junction, Yellingbo, and Bayswater attended.
A woman managed to escape the blaze unharmed but one cat perished and another is missing following the fire.
Yarra Ranges detective Senior Constable Ross McDonald said fire investigators attended and a cause is yet to be determined.
Sen-Constable McDonald said a cat died in the fire and another was missing.
Little Yarra CFA firefighter Kevin Sanders said by the time emergency services arrived the house was ablaze from “end to end”.
“Flames were coming out of both ends of the house and everything was alight,” Mr Sanders said.
“The fire was going like the blazes. There was not much we could do about it.”
He said the structure was completely destroyed but firefighters managed to save a nearby car and yurt.
Mr Sanders said firefighters left the property at 6am.
