STAFF have been busted heating up their lunches in a parents’ room at Eastland, angering a new father.
Mount Evelyn’s Brian Wallwork and his wife regularly visit the centre and have started using the rooms for their two-month old son’s baby bottles.
But he told Maroondah Leader they have had to wait to use the microwave on at least five occasions in the past six weeks because staff have been using it to heat up meals.

Mr Wallwork complained to Eastland management on the centre’s Facebook page, and was encouraged to email further details.
He said he had sent three emails, including one when they were waiting in line, but had received no response.
“Every time we have been into parents’ room without fail, someone has come in to use the microwave,” Mr Wallwork said.
“One lady was heating up some salmon, others have done leftovers,” he said.
Mr Wallwork said he didn’t have a problem with the staff members’ behaviour but felt they needed their own dedicated facilities.
“Our frustration is there doesn’t seem to be any facilities for any staff to use on their own,” he said. “They obviously don’t have an alternative.
Eastland general manager Greg Balmforth said the centre relies on staff co-operation “to ensure parents’ room facilities and services provided for the convenience of our guests are used appropriately.”
He said the centre took visitor concerns seriously as their comfort and convenience was a top priority.
Mr Balmforth confirmed to Maroondah Leader the shopping centre has an internal food delivery service which it offers to Eastland staff.
He also said many retailers had lunch facilities for their staff within their tenancies.
