SES work to cut woman from car following two-car crash in Bayswater

Mountain Highway has reopened following a two-car crash in Bayswater this afternoon. Earlier, rescuers were frantically trying to help a woman trapped in her car.

UPDATE: Mountain Highway has reopened after a two-car crash in Bayswater where a woman was trapped inside her mangled car.

Seven units including SES, firefighters, paramedics and police attended the crash scene on Mountain Highway near Elm St and the Bayswater Woolworths supermarket.

Boronia police constable Matt Graham said the crash occurred about noon and involved a white Toyota Hilux and a grey Hyundai.

SES workers were trying to free the female driver of the Hyundai, believed to be in her 20s, who was trapped inside the car.

The woman’s condition is unknown and it is unclear if she was taken to hospital for treatment.

A man in his 40s who was driving the Hilux walked away uninjured.

Mountain Highway was partially closed for about an hour and traffic was diverted onto Elm St.
