A magistrate has described a man accused of being involved in a foiled drug deal and ramming a police car as having “a raging problem”.

Chris Marshall, 30, appeared via video link at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 21.

Police issued a warrant for Mr Marshall’s arrest following an incident in Ferntree Gully on Thursday, August 13.

He was arrested at a house in The Basin at noon on Thursday, August 20.

The court heard Mr Marshall had 30 charges to answer with potentially more to come.

Magistrate David Starvaggi told Mr Marshall’s defence lawyer Mark Rawson of the “extraordinarily serious nature of these charges” when he applied to have his client further remanded.

“The public is sick and tired of this bloke running amok and putting the health and safety of emergency services workers at risk,” Magistrate Starvaggi said.

“He has a raging problem and complete disregard for social distancing.”

Mr Marshall was further remanded to appear again at the court on September 16.
