A SECURITY guard has been bashed after chasing a pair of perfume thieves at Chemist Warehouse in Ringwood.
Croydon police Acting Sergeant Nathan McGill said police believe a group of men entered the Maroondah Highway shop — two of them stealing items — sometime between 10 and 11pm on Sunday, September 30.
Acting Sgt McGill said the 38-year-old security guard followed the men out to the shop’s Seymour St carpark and tried to attract their attention.

He said one of the men pushed and kicked the guard, before he and another three men drove away from the scene in a white ute.
Acting Sgt McGill said the guard did not suffer any serious injuries and police were reviewing CCTV footage.
He said urged any witnesses to contact Croydon police Senior Constable Michael Boyle on 9724 0100.
