Three teenagers have been arrested after an alleged crime spree across the eastern suburbs, allegedly stealing and crashing a ute before trying to steal other cars.

Police allege a Holden ute was stolen during an aggravated burglary in Rowville and used to steal petrol from a service station on Doncaster Rd about 4am Tuesday, November 15.

The trio allegedly crashed the ute in Surrey Hills before fleeing in another allegedly stolen Nissan Pulsar.

The Nissan was seen at two attempted theft of cars at 6am in Glen Waverley and two burglaries just before 7am in Mount Waverley.

Detectives managed to track down the alleged offenders walking down a street in Ashburton, with three teenagers arrested just before 10am.

It’s alleged the Nissan was stolen from a Glen Iris home on November 10.

Police said a 17-year-old boy had been charged with aggravated burglary, two counts of burglary and two counts of theft of a car.

Another 17-year-old boy had been charged with theft of a car and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

Both boys have been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A third 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital under police guard and is helping police with their inquiries.
