The former Matilda Bay Brewpub site has been listed for sale after the “difficult decision” by the owners to close its doors in May.
The Matilda Bay Brewpub closed in May after five years of operation.
At the time Ryan Saundry, the general manager of Fire & Earth Ventures which operates the Matilda Bay Brewpub, said the company had made the “difficult decision” to close its doors due to challenging market conditions.
“We want to express our thanks and gratitude to our Matilda Bay team who have helped us expand the brand over the last few years, including through the very challenging COVID-19 period when we first launched the brewpub,” Mr Saundry said.
Prior to becoming the Matilda Bay Brewpub, the venue was the Giant Steps Cellar.
The Healesville watering hole was listed for sale in November, six months after it served last drinks.
It has sat vacant since.
“This spectacular property provides the ultimate flexibility to create a landmark hospitality, weddings and events venue in the heart of Victoria’s world renowned Yarra Valley food and wine region,” the listing read.
It has licensed capacity for 793 patrons, on-site carparking and 2203 sq m of trading space.
“Prominently positioned on a significant 5496 sq m corner site with over 175m of frontage to the Maroondah Highway, the property is ideally located within the heart of the town’s centre,” the listing read.
Expressions of interest for the Healesville property close on December 5.
