An outer east shopping centre is the new major sponsor of one of Melbourne’s biggest football competitions.
Maroondah Leader can reveal Eastland has signed a three-year naming rights deal with the Eastern Football League until 2021.
The deal, worth more than $150,000, expands on an existing partnership and will see the centre’s logo on all game balls and team jumpers throughout the season.

The centre will also support individual clubs by providing various supplies for matches and club events, helping them increase fundraising for non-profit organisations.
Eastland general manager Greg Balmforth said the deal was a perfect way for the shopping centre to show its support for the community.
“Like Eastland, the EFL is one of the area’s oldest community institutions, making this partnership the perfect alignment,” Mr Balmforth said.
“We are constantly looking for ways to support and give back to our loyal community, and this partnership allows us to do just that.”
EFL chief executive Troy Swainston said it was one of the league’s biggest partnerships in recent times.
“They (Eastland) fit beautifully within our footprint,” he said.
“They will be a big part of the league going forward and we’re glad to have them on board.”
