Yet another car smashes into Heathmont’s Canterbury Rd shopping strip
Knox highway patrol Leading Senior Constable Dave Huybens said no one was injured but the driver was shaken.
It is the latest in a series of crashes at the shopping strip.
Heathmont Flowers owner Helen Brown said bollards along the strip were too far apart and were ineffective at stopping cars from mounting the kerb.
“We see it happening all the time,” she said.
“We were just lucky today it wasn’t busy along here at that time.”
Heathmont Meat and Poultry owner Shane Monaghan feared it would take a death before safety upgrades were made along the strip.
