The world is your oyster when it comes to style according Yarra Valley’s favourite hairdresser, who was voted best in the region for the second year running.

Imperial Edge Hair in Wandin North came in on top as voted by Leader readers in the Best of Melbourne hairdresser 2021.

Stylist and business owner Nadine Amy said she was excited to be named the most popular for 2020 and 2021.

The hairdresser, who has more than 20 years’ experience in her fingertips, puts the salon’s popularity down to her fantastic team and family friendly environment.

She said keeping up with the trends was also a big factor in why people loved coming to the salon.

“We have a very loyal clientele – awesome clients – and we have a really great team,” Ms Amy said.

“It’s a good family environment and we make sure everyone feels comfortable.”

While lockdown has temporarily closed the salon doors, the team has been keeping up with emerging trends and fashions with daily online training seminars and podcasts.

Ms Amy said hair extensions remained a customer favourite and the salon had its own brand.

She said anything goes when it comes to today’s trends and colour was becoming normalised.

“People are wanting to the mullet and wolf cuts, curtain fringes, anything from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s – it’s all coming back in a funkier way,” Ms Amy said.

“There are heaps of eras coming backs and anything goes at the moment.”

She said while colouring your hair pink might once have been considered “out there”, it was now very popular.

She said the team provided great hair at an affordable price, which appealed to their customers.

“We make it so everyone can afford and get what they want.” Ms Amy said.
