A fake gun and equipment suspected to have be used to traffic drugs have been seized in an early morning police raid in Bayswater North.
Croydon detective Senior Sergeant Jim Sutherland said officers arrested two men following the raid at a house on Home St on Tuesday at 5.30am.
Sen-Sgt Sutherland said officers found a gel blaster inside the home and evidence of ice trafficking.
Officers arrested two men living at the house, aged 19 and 21.
The 19-year-old man was charged with drug trafficking and possession of an imitation firearm, and bailed to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on December 16.
Sen Sgt Sutherland said the 21-year-old man was arrested as he had outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court over prior matters.
The man was remanded to face Ringwood Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday.
The raid comes after another incident involving a gel blaster at Malvern East’s McDonald’s restaurant near Chadstone shopping centre on Friday, July 16.
Police arrested two men near the centre after a man allegedly produced the gel blaster in the restaurant’s carpark and pointed it at a white ute.
