An accused drug dealer allegedly illegally entered an eastern suburbs Macca’s where he committed an aggravated burglary and assaulted a person.
Daniel Gribbin, 24, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with aggravated burglary, assault and intentionally cause injury.
Gribbin allegedly entered the Mooroolbark McDonald’s with “intent to assault” on December 14 last year.
It’s alleged Gribbin was aware his intended target was inside the Macca’s prior to entering the fast food eatery.
Gribbin, who was on bail at the time, allegedly assaulted and injured the person while inside the Manchester Rd store.
Police caught up with Gribbin at his Ringwood East home where he was allegedly nabbed with drugs and cash on February 16 this year.
Gribbin, who was also charged with trafficking ecstasy and cannabis, allegedly slung drugs between September 2 last year and February 16.
It’s also alleged Gribbin, who was charged with weapon possession and deal with proceeds of crime, was nabbed with a sword, ammo and $2348.40 cash.
The court heard Gribbin will chance his arm at a summary jurisdiction application to be heard on June 22.
Gribbin’s defence indicated their client intended to plead guilty if the application to have his matter heard in a lower court – which brings a lower maximum sentence – was successful.
Gribbin, who appeared via videolink from Metropolitan Remand Centre, made no application for bail.
