Whittlesea Council registers 260 jobs with State Government initiative
Whittlesea Council has partnered with the State Government to make hundreds of jobs available for anyone forced out of work as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Here’s the roles they are looking to fill.

Whittlesea Council is looking for more than 250 people to fill roles as outdoor workers, cleaners, social workers, counsellors, digital technicians and meal delivery drivers.
It comes after the council registered 260 jobs with the State Government’s $500 million Working for Victoria initiative.
Anyone forced out of work as a result of the pandemic were encouraged to apply.
Once registered into the database job seekers can then be matched to suitable work.
Whittlesea administrator Lydia Wilson said the available roles would be based at the council or within a partner community organisation.
“It is pleasing to see this initiative come to life, and I would like to thank the State Government for partnering with us to help people return to work as quickly as possible in these challenging times,” she said.
“COVID-19 has affected many people and businesses in our community and it is going to take some time to recover from the hardship it has caused.
“The roles we have created will complement our existing workforce and support our community partner organisations.”

Whittlesea ratepayers under financial strain as a result of the coronavirus pandemic could also apply for a vital rates relief package.
Under the policy financially affected residents would be able to apply for a payment plan, or in serious cases, could defer rates without incurring interest until June 30, 2021.
