A woman was allegedly found in a Thomastown motel room with a large amount of drugs and ammunition after she was granted bail by the County Court.

Tiah Perry, 28, fronted Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, facing charges including trafficking ice and alprazolam.

Police allegedly found her in a room at Excelsior Hotel with two men after 9.30am on March 26 when they went to inquire about an allegedly stolen car that was parked outside.

Officers allegedly saw drug paraphernalia in the room before they found ammunition in a handbag, as well as 19 bottles of prescription medication alprazolam and a stolen bank card.

There was allegedly a bottle of GHB on the bed, ice in a sunglasses case and a large amount of ice, multiple deal bags and $2020 cash in a bumbag.

Police told the court Perry had denied possessing the items, but that so had the men.

The unemployed woman was on County Court bail at the time, having been accused of being involved in an aggravated carjacking and then a high speed police chase in Caroline Springs in April 2019.

She was also on bail after allegedly being caught with drugs in the CBD in September.

The court heard Perry had suffered significant trauma in her life and risked spending too long on remand waiting for the charges to resolve.

Magistrate Ian Alger found there were exceptional circumstances for why Perry should be granted bail.

Mr Alger slapped her with strict bail conditions, including an 8pm to 6am curfew and a ban from associating with the two men.
