A Reservoir man has become the latest millionaire in Melbourne’s north after winning the lottery.
The man held the only Division One winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4529, drawn on Friday, April 4.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said winning $1m made him nervous because his new wealth felt “too unrealistic”.
“It’s crazy. I kept thinking, ‘Is this real? Is this true?” he said.
“Most people would go ballistic if they discovered they won $1m, but I was actually quite nervous.”
Rather than splurging on lavish purchases, the Reservoir man said he wanted to use the money to help fund a good doctor for his mother, who has been battling a health issue.
“I’ve always imagined what I’d do if I won the lottery, and if you asked me last year, I’d probably have a wishlist of things, but all I really want to do is help my mum,” he said.
“I’m feeling very lucky; very grateful.”
The winning entry was purchased on The Lott website.
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4529 on Friday were 42, 9, 3, 40, 24, 29, with supplementary numbers 14 and 4.
Across Australia, there was one Division One winning entry in draw 4529, which belonged to the lucky Reservoir man in Victoria.
So far in 2025, there have been 14 major lottery wins in Melbourne’s north, bringing in more than $65m in prize money collectively.
