An electric wheelchair allegedly stolen from a disabled Craigieburn woman has been recovered by police.
Detectives raided a property in Westmeadows late last week where they found the $7000 scooter they said was stolen during a burglary at a Southern Cres home in December.
A man and a woman have been charged in relation to the burglary, with properties in Kalkallo and Campbellfield also searched on January 2.
Hume detective Senior Constable Shae Morrison said the victim was “very grateful” police had recovered her chair.
“It’s always rewarding being able to return something that a victim clearly requires,” he said.
Sen-Constable Morrison said officers were determined to find and return the stolen chair so the woman didn’t have to spend thousands on a new one.
Police said a man and a woman broke into the Craigieburn home about 6am on December 12 and took jewellery, electric appliances and the scooter.
CCTV footage shows the duo loitering at the front of the house as they attempt to block the security camera.
No one was home at the time.
Sen-Constable Morrison had previously described the incident as a “low act”.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the Westmeadows property and has been charged with handling stolen goods, stalking, conduct endangering life, imitation firearm possession and breaching bail.
He has been bailed to face Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on January 30.
Police recovered the scooter, televisions and a computer at the property.

Detectives also searched a factory in Merola Way, Campbellfield where jewellery believed to be stolen during the burglary was seized, as well as a Holden Commodore linked to a separate incident.
Sen-Constable Morrison said the investigation was continuing.
