Police investigate alleged hit-run at Main Rd, Eltham, leaving Fitzroy North man in hospital
A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a car crashed into his Holden’s front door in an alleged hit-run in Melbourne’s north.

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a Nissan driver reportedly crossed a median strip and crashed into his car in Melbourne’s north.
Greensborough Highway Patrol have questioned a man, who has since been released from custody, as they investigate the alleged hit-run in Eltham on Thursday, July 25.
In a statement, police said a white Nissan Patrol collided with a blue Holden station wagon on Main Rd about 1.35pm.
“Officers were told the Nissan was travelling north on Fitzsimons Lane when it failed to navigate a left turn into Main Rd and drove over the medium strip and collided into the driver’s side door of the Holden,” the statement read.
“The driver of the Nissan did not stop at the scene and continued travelling along Main Rd into oncoming traffic towards Bolton Rd.”
On Thursday evening a Mernda man, aged in his 60s, contacted police about the crash.
He was taken into custody and interviewed. He has since been released.
The Holden driver, a 34-year-old Fitzroy North man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
