More than two dozen devices will be “assessed by forensics” after a Kilmore man allegedly tried to get a child to “engage in sexual activity with himself”.
Matthew Wade, 32, fronted the Seymour Magistrates’ Court on Friday, accused of multiple charges of soliciting and transmitting the child abuse material.
A lengthy investigation by the Seymour Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and Investigation Team ended in his arrest on November 15.
It is alleged Mr Wade sent and accessed child abuse material on August 18, 2022, May 5, 2024, October 12, 2024 and November 7, 2024.
On November 7, Mr Wade also allegedly communicated with a child he knew to be under the age of 16 “with the intention of making it easier to procure the recipient to engage in sexual activity with himself”, charge sheets revealed.

The court heard police seized 25 devices during the arrest, which needed to be “assessed by forensics”.
Mr Wade will next front the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in April next year for a committal mention.
His bail was extended until that date.
