A new Heidelberg burger joint is putting an Italian twist on Melbourne’s burger craze.
The Heidelburger Bar is the latest venture of Bean There owner Izzi La Brocca and offers a host of hamburger options with a taste of the Mediterranean.
Burgers range from $13 to $17.50 and include the The Burger Italiano, made up of grass fed beef with Italian spices, caciocavallo, tomato, lettuce and sun-dried tomatoes, housed in green and red buns.
Also on the menu for the extra famished is the mammoth The Good, The Bad and the Ugly burger, which has three beef patties, double provolone and three pieces of grilled bacon along with toppings, for $25.
The menu also offers a twist on a late night favourite with the Italian Snack Pack — fries loaded with Italian meatball sugo, melted cheese and basil mayo.
The lunch menu boasts traditional Italian street food, the Tiella is a sandwich that fits in the palm of your hand and its filling will change daily according to seasonal produce.
Mention famed Italian actor Sofia Loren for the burgers to be served in a healthy lettuce cup.
