Burrito lovers in Melbourne’s north are in luck, with popular Mexican chain Guzman y Gomez opening in Campbellfield Plaza.
The new store will be headed by local franchisee Tim Westaway, who previously ran the GYG on Swanston Street in Melbourne’s CBD.
Mr Westaway said he lived in the northern suburbs and wanted to open a GYG store close to home.
And he can certainly vouch for the food being tasty – he and his family tuck into it multiple times a week.
“I am a huge lover of Mexican food, and our family has always loved GYG, it’s the best,” he said.
“We eat it three days a week and still want more.
“I previously owned the GYG on Swanston Street and am so passionate about the amazing fresh and clean food we make at GYG.
“I live locally in the northern suburbs and me, my wife and the kids were desperate to have a store closer to home, so we made it happen.”
Mr Westaway said the Campbellfield GYG served 100 per cent clean Mexican food using the best ingredients, and offered everything from early brekkie burritos to healthy burrito bowls.
The new store is open from 7am – 11pm daily and also sells fresh, barista-made coffee.
It’s located on the corner of Hume Highway and Mahoney’s Rd, Sydney Rd, Campbellfield.
The new Campbellfield store has employed 140 staff, mostly locals, and the company is always looking for new staff members.
