Firefighters rescue man from Broadmeadows house fire
Neighbours have been evacuated from their homes as firefighters rescued a man from a burning double-storey house in Broadmeadows.

Firefighters rescued a man from a burning house in Broadmeadows in the early hours this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Widford St property just before 2.30am after a triple-0 caller reported seeing smoke.
About 30 firefighters brought the blaze under control within five minutes of crews arriving at the address.
“Wearing breathing apparatus, MFB crews quickly entered the double storey home to conduct a search for occupants,” the fire service said in a statement.
“Firefighters rescued one person from the building, who was released into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics for treatment.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics treated a man, who was taken to the Northern Hospital in a stable condition.

An Advice message was issued about 3am, with the area declared safe just after 7.30am.
Police said a number of neighbouring houses were evacuated as a precaution.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
