Elderly woman dies days after truck collision in Preston

The elderly Collingwood woman who was hit by a truck on the busy street in Melbourne’s north last week has succumbed to her injuries.
The 76-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a truck at a Preston intersection on May 10.
She died two days later.
The woman was near the intersection of Bell St and Gilbert Rd at the time of the incident.
The 50-year-old Fawkner man who was driving the truck was not injured and stopped at the scene.
He is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Greensborough Highway Patrol have appealed to witnesses of the accident to come forward to police.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the collision.
