Police have allegedly found a huge stash of illegal guns, drugs and other weapons — including imitation grenades and a grenade launcher — at a house in Melbourne’s inner north.
A 40-year-old Coburg man was found with 10 imitation firearms, five scopes, three imitation grenades, a grenade launcher and nine ammunition magazines when he was served by police with a Firearm Prohibition Order on February 2.
The 10 imitation firearms included handguns, assault rifles and submachine guns.
The stash also allegedly included various drugs, with quantities of substances police believe to be heroin and prescription medication.
Detectives from the Major Drug Squad seized the prohibited weapons and charged the man with 10 counts of a prohibited person possessing imitation firearms, possession of heroin and possession of prescription medication.
The man was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on April 21.
