A man was found passed out in the driver’s seat of a running car on a Thomastown road with a taser on him. He was later caught with a fake police badge and a knife. And those weren’t the only things he’s been doing to catch the eyes of the law.

A man caught carrying a fake police badge had previously been found armed with a taser while passed out behind the wheel of a running car, a court has heard.
Ciro Petrovski also had to be capsicum-sprayed after he walked out of Target at Epping Plaza with unpackaged knives stuffed under his singlet and down his pants.
The 50-year-old fronted Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 9, pleading guilty to charges from a series of incidents.
The court heard paramedics found him unconscious in the driver’s seat of a running Nissan on a Thomastown road about midnight on January 13.
Senior Constable Gregg Jolley said when police arrived Petrovski appeared very nervous and a taser was found strapped to his hip in a holster, which he told police he thought was a torch.
A fortnight later, on January 28, police were called to Epping Plaza after security detained Petrovski outside Target.
Police used capsicum spray on him after he refused to get on the ground, before two large knives were found under his top and two smaller knives down his pants.
Petrovski had taken them out of the packaging.
He was then found to have a fraudulent police badge when police randomly decided to search his car, which was parked at 7 Eleven Epping about midnight on July 16.
They found the badge and a knife in the glove box, fireworks in his jacket pocket, cannabis and $2870 cash.
He was then found to have 12.13g of cannabis, 0.35g of meth in pocket and two diazepam tablets when police pulled over his unregistered car on Dalton Rd, Epping on August 15.
Petrovski had also been caught with cannabis, methamphetamine and $1800 back on November 6 when he was found parked at Epping Plaza at 12.10am.
Lawyer David Rofe said his client had been struggling with psychosis and drug abuse and urged for him to be put on a community corrections order for support.
Magistrate Michael McNamara agreed, placing Petrovski on an 18-month order with drug and mental health treatment and fining him $1000.
Mr McNamara noted Petrovski had spent 23 days in jail, but didn’t include the days in the sentence, saying the crimes didn’t warrant that amount of time.
