People are calling for ‘urgent’ traffic lights to be put in at a notorious Kalkallo intersection.
The intersection is part of a new housing estate on the corner of Dwyer St and Donnybrook Rd.
Northern Metropolitan Region state MP Craig Ondarchie called for temporary traffic lights to be installed at the intersection.
Permanent traffic lights are due to be completed by September, but Mr Ondarchie believed it needed to be completed much sooner as crashes and near misses were happening now.
“The intersection … is dangerous,” he said.
“Kalkallo Residents need temporary traffic lights now so they can get home safely to their families.”
Leader asked users if the notorious intersection was hazardous enough to warrant the temporary traffic lights.
Matt Jessop said it was abundantly obvious the intersection would be a nightmare as soon as the new estates went in.
