A TINY goat has made a huge impression at Edgar’s Mission.
When Tripod the goat came to the mission from a pound in September, carers were struck by his cheeky personality.
Unfortunately, he came to the mission with a severe injury to one of his hind legs.
And despite attempts at rehabilitation, the leg had to be amputated, animal carer Paula Jewell said.
“When he came to us in September, he was homeless and had nowhere to go,” she said.
“He had an old injury to his hind leg that meant the tissue had died away. It was basically non-functioning.”

Not one to let an old injury slow him down, Tripod could often be found playing and lapping paddocks with his best friend, a sheep named Duffy.
More than a week on from his surgery, the one-year-old goat was lapping up the attention. “He’s started just having little trips outside, but I think he’s soaking up all the attention that he’s getting,” Ms Jewell said.
She said his young age meant he would adjust quite quickly.
“He should adjust quite well. Right now, he’s enjoying the cuddles and the scratches,” she said.
