A pregnant woman’s ex fired 14 shots at her house and a vehicle she was travelling in during an ice-fuelled early morning drive-by shooting in Melbourne’s north west.

Kether Mazzaro, who pleaded guilty to the shooting on Wednesday, was sentenced to a minimum of 23 months in jail in the County Court of Victoria on Friday.

“Your future is going to depend on you remaining drug free,” Judge Paul Higham said to the father-of-two after he handed down his sentence.

Mazzaro was sentenced after a horror drive-by shooting in Keilor Lodge on October 29, 2023.

He told police he had an argument with her on the night prior to the shooting and had taken ice before firing the shots about 7am.

Mazzaro was driving a Honda and after swapping seats with another person in the car, he fired 10 shots from a .45 calibre firearm towards her house.

The woman and the man she was with got back in their Holden and as they drove off, Mazzaro fired four shots from the road at their moving vehicle.

The Holden collided with another vehicle as a result of the gun shots.

The driver of the Holden and Mazzaro had an argument on the road and the woman could be heard on the CCTV screaming “Keth stop, Keth please stop”.

Police were contacted by concerned neighbours and Mazzaro was arrested later that day at Taylors Hill.

He admitted the shooting but denied he tried to hurt her.

The court heard Mazzaro committed the crime three days after he was released from jail.

The 31-year-old has already served 144 days of his four year sentence.
