Lachlan Humm fronts court over alleged sexual offending

A Beveridge man fighting charges of stalking, sexually assaulting and raping a woman allegedly filmed his criminal acts.

Lachlan Humm will know this week if he will stand trial for allegedly stalking, sexually assaulting and raping a woman.

An accused stalker will know this week whether he’ll be ordered to stand trial for allegedly filming violent acts against a woman he’s charged with raping.

A two-day committal hearing for Lachlan Humm got underway in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on 26 charges, including stalking, sexual assault, using a carriage service to harass, theft, and rape.

The prosecution withdrew one charge of reckless conduct endangering injury against the 25-year-old Beveridge man.

A decision on whether Mr Humm will stand trial in the County Court is expected on Wednesday afternoon.

The prosecution case is that Mr Humm allegedly followed the woman in his car, tailgated her before driving in front of her and breaking suddenly.

It’s then alleged he threatened to inflict serious injury to the woman and “did intentionally apply force” for a non-consensual sexual act.

Beveridge man Lachlan Humm is accused of filming horrific acts of alleged sexual violence and rape on a woman.

Mr Humm, who is accused of raping the woman multiple times, allegedly lifted his foot to “stomp” the woman’s face but stopped his foot “only centimetres from her face”.

He also allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and filmed some of the acts he’s been charged with.

The alleged conduct took place in mid-2022 and he was charged by Mitchell Crime Investigation Unit members on April 5 last year.

It was revealed in court on Friday that Mr Humm allegedly filmed some of the acts he has been charged with.

Police seized Mr Humm’s phone and downloaded video and images which will be used as evidence in court.
