A Melbourne grub held a 14-year-old girl in a toilet cubicle against her will and sexually assaulted her for 30 minutes after forcing her to consume vodka.
Mostaf Abdiraham Ali had been partying for two days and was heavily intoxicated when he and another man bumped into the girl and her female friend in Melbourne CBD on January 1, 2022.
The men began flirting with the girls, calling them “sexy” and “hot” and told them
they could start an OnlyFans’ page or could become strippers or porn stars.
They asked the girls to come back to their hotel but the teenagers refused.
Ali, 30, fronted the County Court on Monday after earlier pleading guilty to charges of false imprisonment, sexual assault and common law assault.
The court heard that the men were unknown to the girls. After their meeting, they went to a bottle shop where the men bought a 20-pack of vodka cruiser sbefore heading to a park in St Kilda.
After forcing the 14-year-old to drink and attempting to kiss her, Ali began touching her even after she told him that she didn’t want anything sexual with him.
Ali then asked the girl to go for a walk and after she refused, he grabbed her arm and forced her to go with him. He forced her into a nearby unisex toilet cubicle and locked the door.
He pushed her against a wall, choked and kissed her. Ali slapped her four times while he sexually assaulted her.
After 30 minutes inside the cubicle, she was allowed to go and police were informed after she got home.
On July 18, 2022 police went to Ali’s home in Preston and for more than an hour, he claimed to be a cousin of the offender but admitted his true identity after he was taken to the Heidelberg police station.
Ali was released from custody pending further inquiries and was arrested in NSW in May 2023 and extradited to Victoria.
Judge Pardeep Tiwana remanded him in custody and ordered that a psychological report be made available at his next appearance on July 11.
