Co-owner David Bartl said he decided to open up the hall because Moonee Ponds was lacking an entertainment space.

“We’re all locals and we wanted to open something we could be excited about, that people would love,” he said.

“I think it’s quite unique in the scale of it.”

The project has been 13 months in the making and has been completely renovated – while keeping an ode to the original space.

“We kept the exposed brick wall and we’ve actually stripped back the paint on the outside of the building to reveal some retro bright red tiles, so that’s been really cool,” Mr Bartl said.

The space will have a modern twist with indoor plants, a green tile backsplash at the bar, pendant lights, velvet booths and even pinball machines.

Fizz and Hop will be stocking name favourites including the super rare Garage Project Arrow Street and the Tall Boy and Moose West Hopped APA collaboration.
