The weather eased just in time for Mildura’s 2024 Carols by Candlelight at Nowingi Place, bringing hundreds of families together for a festive evening by the Murray River.

Crowds gathered with picnic blankets and deck chairs, ready to sing along to Christmas favourites less than two weeks before the big man in the red suit is due to arrive.

The weather, which had been sweltering earlier, cooled down as the evening unfolded.
