A Mildura thug brutally assaulted and raped a woman during a Mother’s Day ordeal in 2024, before telling her he would be back to do it again when she recovered.

A jury found Jordan Blair guilty of intentionally causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury and common law assault unanimously, while he was found guilt of rape by majority decision, with 10 of 11 jurors agreeing on that decision.

Blair was found not guilty of attempted rape and aggravated burglary, while charges of recklessly causing injury and serious injury were dismissed as alternatives.

It was revealed that Blair and the victim had spent the day at Perry Sandhills in Wentworth before a verbal argument turned violent.

Over the weekend that followed, Blair repeatedly slapped, hit, and spat on the victim. He also bit the victim’s cheek and smashed her phone over her head, causing a large cut.

It was revealed Blair also kicked the victim in the face and legs with steel cap boots on while she was in the shower, before taking a photo of her.

“I am going to wait until you get better, then come back and do it again,” Blair told the victim.

Blair told the victim he could, “roll her over for 10 minutes so he could f--k her”, before raping the woman as she laid injured in her bed.

The ordeal only ended when the woman’s boss went to her house to get to the truth of why she had not shown up to work.

In Blair’s official police interview he made admission to some of the offending, but denied the more serious charges.

“She comes onto me all the time, it does my f--king head in … I remember choking her, it is something she likes … I have only ever defended myself. I have never gone out of my way to attack someone,” Blair told officers.

Prosecution lawyer Russell Hammill told the jury during his closing address Blair had “utter contempt for that woman over the entire weekend.”

The jury deliberated for nearly two days, returning late on Wednesday to inform Judge Mark Gamble that they had reached unanimous decisions on seven of the eight charges.

Judge Gamble informed the jury he would accept a majority decision on the eighth charge, but asked them to have one last go at reaching a unanimous decision

The jury returned less than half an hour later to return their verdict.

Blair will be sentenced at a later date, with lawyers returning for a directions hearing on December 17.
