A trio of alleged criminals are accused of going on a rampage across Mildura, breaking into a home before stealing and torching a car, a court has heard.

Lylley Lawson, 20 was granted bail after being charged with a string of burglary offences and arson in Mildura’s Magistrates Court last week.

Her co-accused Steven Pappin, facing similar charges, was refused bail that same day.

The court heard in December of last year Mr Pappin, Ms Lawson and another co-accused allegedly breaking into a Mildura home.

They allegedly stole a car from the property before committing a string of other burglaries before torching the car.

Mr Pappin was on bail at the time of the alleged offences.

Magistrate Michael Coghlan granted Ms Lawson bail on because of her young age and that she can live with her grandmother while.

He also said he had doubts about the strength of the prosecution’s case against her as they were relying largely on circumstantial evidence.

Magistrate Coghlan denied My Pappin’s bail because he did not have a stable address to live in.

He said Mr Pappin’s history of drug use and that he is a known associate to other drug users were also areas of concern.

Mr Pappin and Ms Lawson will return to court in February and March respectively.
