A two car collision required the SES use the jaws of life at a busy Mildura intersection on Monday night.

A Toyota HiLux and a BMW wagon collided at the intersection of Deakin Ave and Tenth Street.

The drivers of the vehicles, a 31-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, were left unscathed by the incident.

Passengers in the BMW were not so lucky, with the front seat passenger taken to Mildura Base Hospital for minor injuries.

An infant who was sitting in the back seat was also taken to hospital for observation.

The Herald Sun understands police intend to issue the driver of the BMW with an infringement notice after he failed to give way.
