A Mildura man who was desperate to be locked up on Wednesday has given another bizarre court appearance, telling the court speaking to a counsellor made him want to do more drugs.

Cetin Alcicek fronted Mildura Magistrates Court to plead guilty to a stack of charges relating to intervention order breaches, driving charges and one weapons charge.

Alcicek appeared in much better shape than his previous court appearance, wearing a black bomber jacket and glasses, a stark contrast to his appearance on Wednesday in a ripped white T-shirt.

The court heard Alcicek had thrown a rock through a person’s window, refused a breath test, and had contacted a person he was prohibited from contacting on several occasions when the summary of his offending was read into the court record.

The accused’s purported methylamphetamine addiction was a hot topic of discussion during the hearing, and his lawyer, Hugh Middleton, submitted to the court that his client had been clean from meth for a week, though it was revealed that Alcicek had a different take on things.

“Talking to a drug and alcohol counsellor made me want to do more drugs,” Alcicek said to Magistrate Patrick Southey.

Furthermore, a Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) report given to the court indicated Alcicek has no intention of stopping his use of the drug.

“(The) CISP report indicates he has no intention of stopping using ice,” Mr Southey said.

Alcicek was sentenced to time served for his repeated intervention order breaches which amounted to three days in prison.

He was fined $1040.40 for his driving offences, and a further $100 for the weapons charge.

Mr Southey had some stern comments as he handed down his sentence.

“Persistent meth use is a big part of the problem, and the fact he won’t admit it is an issue is absurd,” Mr Southey said.

“(Mr Alcicek is one of the most) perverse, incomprehensible and strange people I have ever met,” he added.
