We all need a bit of encouragement from time to time – particularly in the time of COVID-19.
And a world-first app, launched straight out of Melbourne, is making it easy to give friends and family a boost, and have your own personal cheer squad wherever you go.
Made by Zen Zones Australia, the YouGotThis (YGT) app lets users build a group with friends, family and colleagues to share a short video message of feel-good encouragement.
YGT founder Penny Hewson said receiving encouragement from those closest to us had a positive impact on our lives, which is needed now more than ever during lockdown.
“I’ve been on the sidelines cheering on friends and teams my whole life, and I want YouGotThis to bring that kind of encouragement into our day-to-day use of technology,” she said.
“The impetus for creating YouGotThis came in the early days of COVID-19 in Melbourne, when people were suddenly faced with increasing isolation and uncertainty.
“In times of challenge people need even greater human connection and the sharing of encouragement within their close communities is a key coping strategy.”
With Melburnians facing increased time away from loved ones, the free YouGotThis app is an easy way to stay connected and spread messages of love and encouragement.
