Business owners have been preparing for a huge week for the inaugural 2024 Melbourne Local Business Gala Awards presentation nights.
The event debuted with the West Melbourne Local Business Awards on Monday, followed by the North West Melbourne Local Business Awards on Tuesday, the East Melbourne Local Business Awards on Wednesday, finishing with the South East Melbourne Local Business Awards on Friday.
There are 28 award categories in total, including the “Business Person of the Year” award and the “Youth” Award which are additional categories.
The “Business of the Year” is an overall award made up of all the winners in the other categories, which is special in particular as it’s presented with a gold trophy.
The awards pay tribute and celebrate well recognised, respected businesses and becoming a finalist or a winner adds credibility to a leader’s name.
Finalists are selected based on the number of nominations they receive from the public including customers and clients, and the businesses with the highest amount of nominations would be named finalists.
To determine the winner of each category, companies will be judged based on specific criteria including information submitted by each candidate and the strength of their online presence, such as their social media platforms.
