Dramatic arrests inside and outside Melbourne Magistrates’ Court
Police have made two dramatic arrests inside and outside the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court with one man later being charged with possessing a knife after he fled police.

A man allegedly in possession of a knife on court premises has been charged following a dramatic morning where he ran from police and his friend was arrested inside the court.
At 11.20am on Thursday police requested to search a man who was believed to be in possession of a knife outside the courthouse.
The man, wearing a black hat and a black tracksuit then fled the scene while police yelled “he’s got a knife”.
His friend who was standing next to him entered the courthouse before he was arrested by a number of police.
He was released minutes later after being quizzed by police.
Officers found the man that did a runner at 11.30am and arrested him.
He has been charged with possess controlled weapon and possess offensive weapon on court premises.
The 28-year-old Cranbourne man has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on May 20.
