Bridge Rd Richmond: Hawthorn woman charged after fatal pedestrian accident
A driver involved in a tragic accident on a busy Richmond strip will face court, after police laid charges almost a year to the day of the incident.

A female driver who allegedly hit a pedestrian while she was trying to park on a busy Richmond strip has been charged over his death.
Police have charged a 35-year-old Hawthorn woman following the incident in Bridge Rd near the Richmond Town Hall on June 12, 2020.
Investigators allege a man in his 50s was crossing the road about 9.30am when he was struck by a black Volkswagen Tiguan trying to do a reverse parallel car park.
The woman stopped and assisted police with their inquiries after the man was knocked to the ground and suffered serious head injuries.
He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital but died from his injuries two days later.
Police charged the woman with dangerous driving causing death.
She has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 11.
