A pedestrian has succumbed to serious head injuries in hospital after being hit by a car trying to reverse parallel park on Bridge Rd in Richmond.

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car trying to reverse parallel park on Bridge Rd in Richmond.
Emergency services responded after the man aged in his 50s was struck while crossing Bridge Rd near the Richmond Town Hall about 9.30am on Friday.
Police said a black Volkswagen Tiguan wagon was reversing into a parallel car park when it hit the pedestrian, who had crossed from the opposite side of the road.
The man was knocked to the ground and sustained serious head injuries.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he passed away on Sunday.
The driver of the Tiguan stopped and assisted police with their investigation.
Police have appealed for any drivers in the area that may have any dashcam footage to come forward, particularly the driver of a grey SUV wagon that was driving west on Bridge Rd at the time of the collision.
